Summer School Students Presented Book Trailers Based on Russian Fairy Tales

"Creating a book trailer is not just a creative assignment, but a comprehensive educational tool that is especially effective when studying Russian as a foreign language: working on such a project requires students to carefully read and deeply understand a text in a non-native language, to develop skills in concise and competent summarizing of content, to improve spoken and written language while preparing the script, to take a creative approach to visualizing linguistic material, and to be able to work in a team and present the result in Russian," noted Pavel Sapozhnikov, Director of the Institute.
Thus, a book trailer combines several types of speech activity at once — reading, writing, and speaking — and helps foreign students not merely memorize vocabulary and grammar, but immerse themselves in Russian culture through an introduction to folklore.

Summer School students brilliantly accomplished the task: the presented book trailers stood out for their vividness, originality, and deep understanding of the plots of Russian fairy tales, and the participants demonstrated not only progress in mastering the Russian language but also a creative approach to completing the assignment, confirming the high effectiveness of such project-based learning formats.

The Institute of International Education continues to create conditions for the effective and engaging study of the Russian language by international students.
